Our year in Art is well underway. Most grades have begun with color theory and color mixing.
Lower building art classes started off making collages and Mondrian-inspired paintings with solely primary colors. Grades K, 1 and 2 moved on to mixing cool colors and warm colors and made some brilliantly-colored fall collages. Grade 3 mixed colors to make secondary colors and created a lovely fruit bowl still life. Grade 4 showed their mastery of color mixing by painting a 12-color color wheel using only primary colors. Grades 5 and 8 have been trying their hand at the twelve-color color wheel as well, with eighth grade meeting the challenge of adding two tints to each hue. Grades 6 and 7 have been very busy working on their Lions Club Peace Poster. This year's theme is "Peace, Love, and Understanding. Good luck, everyone! |
Reminders:
All students in grades 4-8 should be bringing their fully-loaded art bag to class each week. This helps us get organized quickly each class and allows for more time creating art and less time passing out supplies. |
