Our upper building hallways are a cheerful quilt of pop art and optical illusions.
The third, fourth, and fifth grades have been experimenting with optical illusions through paper weaving. As soon as I get these amazing creations laminated, I will display them in the hall.
The third and fifth grades have also recently used images of popular candies to create Andy Warhol-inspired pieces.
The fifth grade also created optical illusion vases using their side profiles. (They also loved turning their names into aliens!)
Did you know the sixth grade has a wild side? Check out their portraits. The sixth grade has also been using repeated lines, straight and curved, to create illusions of their hands.
It's hard to miss the seventh grade's most recent work when you enter the cafeteria! Giant, Claus Oldenburg-style soft sculptures adorn the window wells, making many of us crave...chocolate!
Finally, the eighth graders have completed their signature SCS graffiti names. It seems like just yesterday Mrs. Blanchard was tracing their silhouettes. My, how time flies.
The first and second grades have also been very busy with Mrs. Ferlisi. Be sure to check out the beautiful artwork in the lower building.
We have such creative, talented students at our school!
